Toronto Pearson International Airport is testing a new technology to make moving through the airport faster in an attempt to combat airport delays.
Pearson and the Canadian Border Agency said new electronic ports or eGates are now being tested at the airport for international passengers arriving at Terminal 1.
Those aged 16 and over will be able to use eGates there to verify their identity and submit their customs and immigration data.
“If you’re arriving in Canada via Terminal 1, look for new eGates that are being tested,” the airport tweeted. “Once fully operational, these eGates will help you get through customs more easily and quickly.”
The Border Agency calls the new technology an easier “smoother and faster border experience”.
