Trafalgar Square was evacuated after the discovery of a suspicious vehicle, of course.

The area of ​​central London is blocked by images showing a large police presence and cordons.

Many people on social media reported that they heard the sound of an “explosion” or explosion around 11 am.

Westminster police said the incident was over and officers remained at the scene. However, they did not disclose details of what happened.

The forces said on Twitter: “Employees are currently on #TrafalgarSquare, where they evacuated the scene. Please do not travel to the area.

They later added: “The police remain in place. The incident is over and the square will be reopened in time.

A reporter at the scene said a controlled explosion was used to deal with the suspicious vehicle and urged people not to panic.

Crystal Gumansing of Global news tweeted: “Controlled explosion near Trafalgar Square. Police said officers handled a suspicious vehicle. “Please don’t panic that you heard a crash,” said a Metro employee on the spot.

The London Fire Brigade is also at the scene.

Tourist Sarah Churchill, who was in Trafalgar Square with her 11-year-old son Noah at the time, said she heard the sound of a “bomb” exploding “without warning”.

She told the Daily Mirror: “There were a lot of police, we were just about to cross the square when we reached the corner, we saw that it was cut off.

“We were talking to a police officer when the bomb exploded without warning.

“He had told us it was a suspicious package, but it was not a controlled explosion, no one told us it was about to explode.”

Sarah, 38, said the sound of the bomb “shook” her and was “intensely loud and fast.”

She said her son was horrified as the noise caused a crowd of about 150 people to flee.

Footage on social media also shows that people were urgently evacuated from a nearby hotel because of “a suspicious car that was unattended.”

It comes before the platinum anniversary concert tonight in front of Buckingham Palace.

More than 20,000 people will attend the open-air event in honor of the Queen’s 70-year rule.

The event will be opened by the rock band Queen, featuring other stars, including Diana Ross, Alicia Keys and Sam Ryder from Eurovision.
