Tragedy when a man dies after being hit by a car in a horrific Horsfort crash

Police have confirmed that a man died after being hit by a car on the way to Horsfort.

Yesterday (Thursday) for several hours there was a closed road on the ring road A6120 on Broadway, after the man was hit by a Skoda Fabia around 13.50. Emergency services, including an air ambulance, arrived, but unfortunately he was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.

The driver of the Skoda received minor injuries and was detained. Police are asking for information after the fatal collision.

A West Yorkshire police spokesman said: “At 1:51 p.m. yesterday, a report was received that a silver Skoda Fabia was traveling on the A6120 Ring Road Broadway to Horsforth when it collided with a man. Emergency services arrived on the scene, but the man was unfortunately pronounced dead shortly afterwards.

“The driver of the car, a 24-year-old man, was slightly injured and was detained in connection with the accident.

“Roads were closed in both directions, but then removed.

“The Big Crash Investigation Team is investigating the incident and urging anyone who witnessed it or the circumstances before it, or anyone who was in the area with a camera recording, to contact them on 101 or through the 101LiveChat feature on the website of West Yorkshire Police, citing Diary 0840 of 12 May. “
