A man abuses two retirees aboard a Merseyrail train by hitting one in the eye.
The British Transport Police announced that the accident happened on board a train between Liverpool Central and James Street stations. Officials said that shortly before 3 pm on April 19, a 71-year-old woman was sitting unoccupied when a man approached her and subjected her to a “stream of abuse”.
As he continued to shout in her face, the second victim, an 81-year-old man, intervened and told him to leave the woman alone. The man replied, shouting, “She was in mine.” [expletive] seat ”and hit the man in the eye.

Two members of the railway staff removed the man from the James Street station service. Police have now released an image of a man whom officials believe may have information that could help their investigation. A spokesman for the British Transport Police said: Officers investigating an attack on board a train between Liverpool Central and James Street stations are putting this image in touch.
