Travis Barker announced on his Insta Stories this Saturday afternoon that he’s “much better right now” after being hospitalized with pancreatitis on Tuesday.
The 46-year-old’s post was his first update on social media since he cryptically tweeted: “God save me” on the morning he was rushed to hospital, where he has remained since Saturday.
In his latest Insta Story, he wrote that his pancreatitis was caused by the removal of a polyp “in a very sensitive area” during an endoscopy. Earlier in the week, it was reported that his illness was caused by a colonoscopy, which is a type of endoscopy, but Travis did not specify if that was the specific screening he underwent.
His wife, Kourtney Kardashian, retweeted Travis’ story and added her own sentiments, thanking God “for healing my husband” after the “scary and emotional week” they had.

“I went for my endoscopy on Monday feeling great. But after dinner I got excruciating pain and have been hospitalized ever since,” Travis wrote.
“During the endoscopy I had a very small polyp removed right in a very sensitive area, usually handled by specialists, which unfortunately damaged a critical pancreatic drainage tube. This resulted in severe life-threatening pancreatitis.
The Blink-182 drummer added: “I’m very very grateful that with intensive care I’m doing much better right now,” closing the message with a praying hands emoji.
Meanwhile, Kourtney wrote: ‘Oh what a scary and emotional week this has been. Our health is everything and sometimes we take for granted how quickly it can change. Travis and I went together for a routine endoscopy and he ended up with severe, life-threatening pancreatitis.

She continued: “I am so grateful to God for my husband’s healing, for all your prayers for him and for us, for the overwhelming outpouring of love and support. I am so touched and grateful.”
The reality star added, “I am so grateful to our specialists, doctors and nurses at Cedars Sinai for taking such wonderful care of my husband and I during our stay.”
In a follow-up post, she wrote: “It’s crazy how sometimes words can never truly express the gratitude or feelings I have inside.”
The updates come two days after it was claimed Travis was “expected to be fine” after being hospitalized while suffering from pancreatitis, which was then believed to be “caused” by a recent colonoscopy.

A source told E! that Kourtney is trying to stay positive as she stays by his side at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles.
The source added: “He was in a lot of pain yesterday and he and Kourtney were really worried. It was to the point where he could barely walk.
The mother-of-three is also said to be staying positive while her husband recovers. “Kourtney is trying to cheer him up and she hates seeing him in excruciating pain,” the source said.

According to TMZ, Travis’ doctors believe his pancreatitis — which is inflammation of the pancreas — was “unlocked” by a recent colonoscopy.
Sources told the site that Barker recently underwent a colonoscopy; the procedure is usually done to look for changes in the colon and rectum, such as swollen, irritated tissue, polyps, or cancer.
However, in very rare cases, a colonoscopy – which involves inserting a long tube into the rectum – can cause pancreatitis, a condition that usually requires hospitalization and can last a few days or, in some cases, occur over many years.
Symptoms of the condition – which can also be caused by gallstones or chronic and heavy alcohol use – include upper abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting.

The agonizing condition that landed Travis Barker in the hospital: What is pancreatitis and how serious is it?
Pancreatitis is when the pancreas — a small organ behind the stomach that helps with digestion — becomes inflamed.
There are two types of condition; Acute pancreatitis, which starts suddenly and resolves within about a week, and chronic pancreatitis, in which the pancreas has been inflamed from permanent damage for many years.
Acute pancreatitis is often associated with gallstones – which form in the gallbladder from the liver – and drinking too much alcohol.
But in rare cases, it can also be caused by a colonoscopy.
In one example published in the International Journal of Surgery Case Reports, a 53-year-old woman developed pancreatitis after a routine colonoscopy to check for possible cancers.
Symptoms of acute pancreatitis include:
- Sudden onset of severe pain in the center of the abdomen;
- Feeling or vomiting;
- You have a temperature over 100F (38C).
Patients suffering from this condition are usually admitted to hospital.
Treatment involves putting in an intravenous drip and getting pain relief. Patients may also be given liquid food through a stomach tube and oxygen through nasal tubes.
In most cases of acute pancreatitis, patients are discharged from the hospital within a few days and recover in about a week.
But in some cases, patients may suffer from severe illnesses that can leave long-term complications. In very rare cases, it can prove fatal.
About 220,000 people are diagnosed with acute pancreatitis in the U.S. each year, and 80,000 will be diagnosed with chronic pancreatitis, according to the Pancreas Foundation.

Meanwhile, a source told PEOPLE on Wednesday that Kourtney is “not going to leave him.”
“Courtney was worried yesterday. They both were,” the source added. “Travis was suffering from severe stomach pain and could barely walk.”
The star was taken to a Los Angeles hospital by ambulance on Tuesday after suffering a medical problem, with new wife Kourtney by his side when he arrived at the local West Hills facility.
He was later taken to Cedars Sinai Medical Center by ambulance while Courtney, 43, followed behind in her Range Rover. It was initially unknown what illness the rocker was suffering from, but “multiple sources connected to the family” have now told TMZ that he was diagnosed with pancreatitis as a result of a colonoscopy.
The procedure can be a life-saving treatment because it allows your doctor to check the inside of your colon and rectum for cancer and polyps, which can be early signs of cancer.
However, although it is considered a relatively safe examination, it is not without risk and the most common adverse reaction is stomach pain, cramping or feeling bloated afterwards. In very rare cases, the procedure can also cause pancreatitis — although there is limited understanding of how this happens, according to the International Journal of Surgical Case Reports.
The medical journal states that “pancreatitis should be considered a rare potential complication in patients who develop acute abdominal pain after colonoscopy,” adding that the condition is most likely to be caused by “procedural difficulties” during the procedure, including ” mechanical trauma” of pancreas.
A colonoscopy is performed using a long, flexible tube called a colonoscope that allows your doctor to examine the inside of your colon.
But because the instrument passes through the splenic flexure, it can cause pressure on the tail of the pancreas, which can then lead to pancreatitis.
The latest reports on Travis’ condition come hours after he was filmed being transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on a gurney – after being transferred to the hospital from the local West Hills facility.
Travis was seen lying on a gurney dressed in all black, the hood of his sweatshirt pulled up over his head, with his signature tattoos visible on his right arm, which was raised in the air, as he was wheeled into the hospital by ambulance.
Kourtney, who was seen walking alongside her husband, was also dressed in all black with a hood up over her hair and her face shielded from the public.
Barker also cryptically tweeted, “God, watch over me” at 10:45am PST on Tuesday morning, sparking massive concern among fans before his condition was revealed.
Hours later, Barker’s daughter, Alabama, took to her Instagram Stories to ask her fans to “Please send your prayers,” adding a sad emoji – indicating that her father’s condition is quite serious.
She then posted a now-deleted image of herself holding her father’s hand as he lay in a hospital bed, captioning the photo – which was shared on TikTok – “please say a prayer”.
Travis’ face was not shown in the photo, but he was seen sitting in a hospital bed holding his phone. A white medical bracelet could be seen on his right wrist, but Alabama posted a heart emoji above it to hide the rocker’s personal information.
Seriously: The Blink-182 drummer, 46, arrived at West Hills Hospital on Tuesday with wife Kourtney Kardashian by his side. Apparently the doctors…
