Tre Ford launches Edmonton Elks University in Waterloo Hamilton Tiger-Cats

The Edmonton Elks start Tre Ford from the University of Waterloo as a quarterback this week against Hamilton Tiger-Cots, according to TSN Football Insider Farhan Lalji.

He is also listed as the starting QB in the team’s depth ranking published on Friday afternoon.

The 24-year-old rookie has appeared in all of Edmonton’s three games this season, but made just one pass for eight yards until he rushed three times for 10 yards.

In Waterloo last season as a senior Ford finished 139 of 219 passes for 1,170 yards and 12 touchdowns, adding 667 yards in 66 attempts in seven games.

Under center for 0-3 Elks in the first three games of the season was Nick Arbuckle, who struggled with two touchdowns compared to six interceptions.

The 28-year-old Arbuckle is in his first season in Edmonton after spending his first two seasons in the CFL with the Calgary Stampiders and last year with the Toronto Argonauts.
