Former President Donald Trump posted angry posts on his social media platform when a House of Representatives committee on January 6 looked at the former president’s efforts to use the Justice Department to undermine the 2020 election.
Trump joined his Truth Social network on Thursday to continue repeating repeatedly refuted allegations of widespread election fraud as the national hearing unfolded. The commission heard three high-ranking Justice Ministry officials describe resistance to pressure from the former president to use the ministry’s powers to challenge the election results.
Gathered last year to investigate the causes of the January 6, 2021 uprising in the US Capitol, the investigation turned its attention to the way Trump and members of his inner circle tried to prevent Congress from verifying the results of the presidential election in 2020
Earlier this month, the commission held its first national broadcast hearing, in which it set out its findings.

Illinois Republican Adam Kensinger led the fifth televised hearing on Thursday, saying in his opening remarks that Trump had put undue pressure on Justice Department officials to “say the election was” corrupt “and” leave the rest to me and the Republican Congressman. “”
“As you will hear today, the department’s top management has refused,” Kinzinger said. “It’s not surprising that President Trump didn’t take ‘no’ for an answer.”
Trump appears to have struck at Kinsinger, one of the two Republicans on the committee.
“Has there ever been a time in Congress when a member was allowed, without any cross-examination, to read long and often false statements, not from notes or other documents, BUT FROM TELESUFFLER?” Trump said in a post on. Truth Social. “This is a kangaroo yard we’ve never seen in this country!”
Cross-examination is a procedure for questioning witnesses in civil or criminal proceedings.
Following the 2020 presidential election, former Trump Attorney General Bill Barr told the commission earlier that he had rejected the then president’s insistence on voter fraud as “beech **” and resigned.
Former Acting Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen, who succeeded Barr, reminded the commission that Trump was “unhappy” that the Justice Department had not done enough to support his allegations of voter fraud.
Rosen also testified that Trump wanted the Justice Department to seize voting machines from US governments, believing they contained evidence of fraud. However, Rosen said the department had no legal authority to do so and the department did not see “anything wrong” in the machines.
Trump, meanwhile, ignored the commission by “canceling the election”, scattering its official designation as the House of Representatives election commission, saying it was ignoring evidence of voter fraud.
“They refuse to go there, they want everything to be CANCELED because it would be IMPOSSIBLE for the Unselect Committee to refute or challenge what will be put in front of them or in front of the American public,” Trump said.
Trump challenged the commission to “LET’S PRESENT THE EVIDENCE, STATE BY STATE.” He also reiterated his claim of “mass ballot stuffing”.
Trump’s allegations of voter fraud have been rejected by more than 50 courts, including the Supreme Court, and refuted by numerous audits and members of his own administration.
