Two people died at the scene of a collision in the York region

Police say they are looking for witnesses after two people died in a crash of two vehicles in York on Saturday morning.

York Regional Police said the crash happened in the Warden Avenue and Stouffville Road area of ​​Whitchurch-Stouffville, Ont., Around 8:45 p.m.

A dump truck with a trailer collided with a Toyota Corolla with two passengers, they said.

The driver and passenger of the Toyota Corolla were found dead on the spot, and the driver of the dump truck was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Two people were unfortunately pronounced dead at the scene of the collision between Warden Ave and Stouffville Road. The accident happened at 8:45 a.m. involving a truck and a Toyota. The intersection will be closed for several hours for investigation.

“All witnesses who have not yet spoken to police, or anyone who may have a recording of the collision from the dashboard, please come out,” York police said in a press release Saturday.

“We would also like to talk to anyone who has seen any of the vehicles or has information about driving behavior before the collision.

Police said the intersection would be closed for several hours due to the investigation.
