ELMONT, NY – MMA Junkie is on stage reporting live from Saturday’s UFC on ABC 3 event, and you can join us for live action and official results starting at 11 a.m. ET (8 a.m. PT).
UFC on ABC 3 takes place at the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York. The main card airs on ABC and airs on ESPN+ following prelims on ESPN/ESPN+.
In the main event, former featherweight title contender Brian Ortega (15-2 MMA, 7-2 UFC) takes on Yair Rodriguez (13-3 MMA, 8-2 UFC) in a key fight at 145 pounds. In the co-main event, Amanda Lemos (11-2-1 MMA, 5-2 UFC) meets Michelle Waterson (18-9 MMA, 6-5 UFC) in a women’s flyweight bout. In addition, former women’s bantamweight champion Miesha Tate (19-8 MMA, 6-5 UFC) drops down to flyweight for the first time to face Lauren Murphy (15-5 MMA, 7-5 UFC) .

Emily Ducote vs. Jessica Penne
Round 1 – Ducote opens up the middle and tries to push Penne back. Penne responds with a kick and punches. A minute later, Ducote lands a nice left hook that knocks Penne’s head back. Ducote works with a low kick. Penne goes down and threatens a takedown, but saves when Ducote backs away. Penne goes down again for a takedown, but Ducote easily defends and briefly clotheslines Penne and slams her against the fence. Ducote continues to work low leg kicks and they start to increase. Penne comes in and ties her up in a muay thai clinch and tries to land some knees but Ducote breaks away. Ducote continues with leg kicks, which prove to be her best weapon. Penne throws a nice tip and with a minute left, they have a nice hand exchange. Ducote throws to the body, then a left to the head. He goes to the body again. Ducote continues to throw leg kicks and then lands a great right hand. She must have landed 20 leg kicks in the round. MMA Junkie gives Ducote a 10-9 opening frame.
Round 2 – Penne lands a body kick. Ducote responds with one of his own. Big right hand for Ducote lands, just after another leg kick that makes Penne wince and that forces Penne to look for another takedown. But it’s not there. Ducote fends off any threat to take Penne down pretty easily. And she lands a left hand, then another. Penne responds with a 1-2 combo, but Ducote is there to counter. Penne lands a jab midway through the round, then tries again for a double leg takedown – and again Ducote easily gets out of it. Ducote keeps landing, but Penne finally lands some punches and Ducote’s nose is bleeding. They exchange hands with 50 seconds left in the round. Ducote lands a bunch of punches with 30 seconds left. Penne hooks her with a clinch, but doesn’t land enough to make the difference. It’s another 10-9 round for Ducote on the unofficial MMA Junkie card.
Round 3 – Ducote attacks Penne’s calf right out of the gate with low kicks. This is the story of the battle for her. Penne lands a good front kick, but Ducote lands more kicks to the calf and Penne goes limp with his left leg. Ducote lands a right that hurts Pene. Penne is backed up against the fence and in trouble as Ducote continues to work with kicks. And she throws them. Ducote lands a right. Penne tries a front high kick, but Ducote backs away. Penne lands a right, but it won’t trouble Ducote. Midway through the final round, Ducote had landed 35 of 43 leg kicks at an over 80 percent clip. Penne stays tough and lands a right hand. Then another passes. But she definitely needs a Hail Mary home run shot if she wants to win the battle. Ducote lands another leg kick. Another kick lands. It’s going to be damn hard for Pene to walk around for a few days. With 30 seconds left, Ducote can put this on cruise control. Penne is still shooting, but it’s still Ducote leading the dance. Ducote goes 10-9 one more round and should have a 30-27 victory in the fight for a truly successful UFC debut.

Dwight Grant vs. Dustin Stoltzfus
Round 1 – Grant comes forward 15 seconds in and throws a left, but Stoltzfus counters quickly and knocks him off balance. Grant ducks and throws a right overhand, then a left. Stoltzfus tries a leg kick, but Grant slides out of the way. Grant lands a big right hand seconds later, but Stoltzfus stays on his feet. Stolzfuss lands a big right at 90 seconds. Grant lands to the body, then tries an overhead kick and threatens to take Stoltzfus off his feet. With three minutes left, Stolzfuss shoots and works for a takedown. Grant defends, but his back is against the fence. He fights back and eats a right hand to do it. Stoltzfus tries a left high kick but Grant avoids it. Grants lands a nice left hook as they go inside. Stoltzfus has some blood near his left eye. He lands a kick but Grant lands harder. Grant lands some punches with 15 seconds left. Stoltzfus tries to chase him down with some punches and a late kick, but it’s a 10-9 round on the Junkie scoreboard for Grant in a relatively close round.
Round 2 – Stoltzfuss lands a nice right hand 15 seconds in. Stoltzfus tries some more leg kicks. Grant lands a punch, then an interesting bouncing leg kick. Grant goes inside but Stoltzfus tries to land a right hand and is a little late. Grant throws a front kick, then a left up the middle. Stoltzfus tries a jumping knee, then a kick. With two minutes remaining, Stoltzfus steps in for a takedown. He tries to knock him off balance, but Grant stays upright during the one-leg attempt. They close in as Stoltzfus continues to work to get him to the canvas, going from single to double. Finally, he takes him down with 70 seconds left. Stoltzfus takes his back and lands some punches as Grant ducks. With 45 seconds left, he gets a body triangle and goes back to work for a bare-ass choke. He has it, but Grant tackles him. With 20 seconds left, he tries again, but Grant fights back. Stoltzfus lands punches, hoping to land enough to get a stoppage. He hits an uppercut late but Grant survives. It’s a 10-9 round for Stoltzfus on the Junkie card and he may even be headed to the final round.
Round 3 – Stoltzfus could be two rounds ahead, depending on how the judges saw the first. If not, it’s equal. Stoltzfus looks like he has a lot more left in the tank than Grant. Grant lands and knocks Stoltzfus off balance as he tries to escape. Grant lands a left hook there with 90 seconds left, then lands a nice counter right hand. Before long, a left hook comes again. Stoltzfus breaks Grant with a big backhand from the right with three minutes to go. Stoltzfus shoots for a takedown, but Grant moves out of the way and lands another right quickly after. Stolzfuss tries a spinning kick, but Grnat doesn’t get in the way. But Stoltzfus comes in, falls and scoops up Grant. He takes him to the center of the cage and is about to throw him down with a big slam. Here it is. If he can stay on top the rest of the way, it’s a battle for Stolzfuss. He switches to half guard and throws punches. Grant doesn’t look like he’s very interested in working his way back to the feet. Stoltzfus strikes with Grant in survival mode. Stoltzfus steps up to go up with 12 seconds left. He lands some elbows and some punches to close. It’s a 10-9 round for Stoltzfus and he should have a 29-28 win – possibly 30-27.
