Ukrainians suffer from gasoline shortages after Russia’s fuel infrastructure strikes

DIDOVICHI, Ukraine – About two dozen civilians were evacuated on Saturday from a besieged steel plant in Mariupol, while elsewhere Ukrainians faced fuel shortages and rising prices after recent Russian missile strikes on oil refineries and warehouses in the country.

On Saturday afternoon, the Mariupol City Council announced plans to evacuate residents of the occupied city, but did not confirm whether this had been done. Russian state media reported on Saturday that a group of 25 civilians, including six children, had been evacuated from the Azovstal plant.
