Crash on Hwy 1

First responders responded to a motor vehicle accident on the Trans-Canada Highway in Valleyview Sunday afternoon.
Traffic was backed up on Highway 1 through Valleyview Sunday afternoon as emergency crews responded to a vehicle accident.
Police, Kamloops Fire Rescue and paramedics were on scene at the crash, which happened at Oriole Road and the Trans-Canada Highway just before 4 p.m.
A man could be seen getting into an ambulance.
According to DriveBC, the vehicle incident blocked the westbound lanes of Highway 1 and limited eastbound traffic to one lane. As of 4:15 p.m. Sunday, one westbound lane appeared to be moving.
“Please use caution and expect delays,” DriveBC said.
There is no official word yet on the number of cars involved or the severity of injuries sustained as a result of the incident. Castanet Kamloops has contacted BC Emergency Health Services for more information.
