The second game of the Western Conference Finals between the Golden State Warriors and the Dallas Mavericks on Friday night reached a boiling point in the second quarter after a strange incident involving Damien Lee and Davis Bertans.
A little over eight minutes before the end of the second quarter, Spencer Dinuidi swung the ball at Bertans in the corner, and the big man fired a quick three-pointer. Despite Lee’s strong competition, which probably had to be declared a foul, Bertans received a blow and was knocked down in the process.
As no foul was ruled, Bertans tried to stand up immediately so he could return to defense. When he started to stand up, Lee tried to jump him a la Alan Iverson over Tai Lu in the finals in 2001. The result was a strange collision in which Lee was thrown right on his back.
Understandably, the mood flared up immediately afterwards and the players from both teams talked to each other. The fact that the accident happened right in front of the Mavericks bench didn’t help. In the end, however, everyone kept their head and there were no more problems. The Warriors won 126-117 in an exciting effort coming from behind after falling behind by 19.

However, the referees went to the monitor and after a brief review assessed the double technical characteristics – one for Lee and Bertans. None of them really deserved technique, as just an accidental contact looked much worse than it actually was, but you can find out the referees who are trying to arrange the game.
