A strong thunderstorm is in effect as storms are expected to hit the Washington area on Sunday afternoon and evening.
The watch includes Washington, DC, Montgomery, Prince George, Anne Arundel, Howard, Carol, Frederick and Washington counties in Maryland and Fairfax counties, Ludon, Prince William, Fockie, Spotsylvania and Stafford, and Alexandre, as well as the towns of Arlesley Manasas and Manasas Park in Virginia.
Storms are expected mainly between 3pm and 7pm, Storm Team4 chief meteorologist Doug Camerer said.
Sunday was another hot and humid day with temperatures expected to reach the 90s.
Storm Team4 says the moving cold front is the cause of the storms.
