On Monday morning, the new moon in Gemini offers a new beginning. But don’t expect a single time to present itself as the “right choice” or a vision for the future to shine brighter than the others. Rather, this new beginning is about expanding opportunities. You still don’t have to choose between them – just let them bloom. Then, early on Friday morning, retrograde Mercury finally ends and some of the stress and confusion of the last three weeks is now slowly fading. If this period has prompted you to think – to think about changing work, relationships, life – this work can start seriously. Finally, a retrograde Saturn begins on Saturday night. Over the next four and a half months, you may face challenging lessons and difficult truths. But as harsh as retrograde Saturn may feel, it’s also fair. So, if you have worked hard – whether at work or on yourself – then you can expect your work to finally bear fruit.

Some people build a beautiful life by carefully planning and carefully considering their options. You, on the other hand, prefer to leave room for magic, for surprise. You are happy to trust fate, the unpredictability of the universe, and your own impulsive willpower. But lately, you’ve been worrying that none of your bold, daring actions have led to anything, that they’ve all turned out to be false starts. But this is not true. Even if they did not give the results you hoped for, they were a useful practice, necessary steps in the right direction. This week you will see: None of your efforts have been wasted.

Most of all, you meet the needs of your body: eat well, provide yourself with moments of rest, comfort. But sometimes you forget that you need mental nourishment along with physical nourishment. Your inner life – your intellectual vitality, your curiosity, your pure sense of wonder how much there is to learn – must also be cultivated. It’s easy to forget to take care of this part of yourself, but this week it’s extremely important to give it a try. You will be amazed at how valuable it is to read, to dream, to ask questions. Your whole world will become brighter, more alive.

It is a gift to be as curious and insightful as you are. Understanding complexity and abstraction, you can keep conflicting ideas in your head at once and embrace ambiguity without abandoning the search for truth. The only problem is that you have a habit of getting lost in abstractions, of thinking so hard that you forget that you have both a body and a heart. This week, let your mind rise and wander. Let him do what he does best. Just remember that you can also enjoy physical pleasures.

There is value in maintaining a sense of perspective. You are aware that your own sorrows are not the greatest in the universe, your own heart is no more painful than what others have experienced. But that doesn’t make them insignificant. This week, allow yourself the time and space you need to heal, to grieve for what you have lost. It is painful to be human in this life, and just because others are suffering does not mean that yours should be less important to you. The answer right now is not to suppress your own emotions, but to acknowledge that we all have our own grief and help each other endure it.

As frustrating as it may be, this week you will not solve any major problems on your own. You probably won’t be a hero or experience moments of individual genius. Instead, you will get something better: the opportunity to think and discover in collaboration with others – to change them and in turn to be changed. The loneliness that torments you will disappear not because of some spectacular courageous action, but through the ordinary, everyday experience of connecting with people. Your world and your imagination will expand once again. Those you love will activate parts of you that you would never discover on your own.

Lately, you have been worried that your gifts will be wasted – that your wisdom, your skills, your courage have been consumed by the long hours spent at work that pays the bills. There is certainly nothing wrong with doing what it takes to stay afloat, but you know in your heart that you have more ideas, more love, more energy to offer. This week, try to keep your faith that as much as possible. There are opportunities to live the life you have dreamed of, and you must be ready to say yes.

From where you are, you struggle to see how our world could ever be fixed: the forces of violence are too powerful, injustice is too deep. But even if you have thought and fought and have not found satisfactory answers or a convincing reason for optimism, you still need to move forward. So this week your task is to find something that will make moving forward more bearable. Maybe it’s art, maybe it’s friendship, maybe it’s just the stubborn thrill of refusing to give up. In the end, you will see that not everything is lost, for the simple reason that you are still here, you are still walking, you are not defeated yet.

Honesty is important to you, even (perhaps especially) in situations where most people would prefer a comforting lie. For you, false hope is worse than none. And so it is easy for you to lose sight of the fact that you need and deserve a little frivolity from time to time. This week, take every opportunity to make your friends laugh, to walk outside and feel the sun on your skin, just to enjoy the beauty of the world. There is enough time for seriousness and hard work, but sometimes you need a little fun to strengthen you, to strengthen your heart.

Your life is meaningful, of course, but it doesn’t always seem that way. You worry that you are missing out on a bigger goal, wasting your precious time here on earth. This week, however, pay attention and you will notice the magic and importance of everyday life. All the little experiences you have, all the little moments of connection with others, add to something beautiful and valuable. You don’t have to throw yourself into a big drama or embark on an adventure around the world. It makes sense to be found right where you are. It’s just a matter of perspective.

These days you feel guilty about almost everything: that you work too much, or too little, or in the wrong ways. For your actions, your emotions, your personality. But spending the day has been hard enough lately without being so heavy on yourself. You don’t believe when your friends say you’re doing your best. Your imagination is active enough so that you can always think of ways in which you could do more, do better. But this week, calm that critical voice in your head. Be gentle with yourself.

In such a vast and amazing universe, full of fascinating people, places and ideas, you hardly find it necessary to focus on your relatively quiet inner life, your emotional needs. You prefer to direct your energy outwards and you can be immensely generous with your attention. Just remember that this week, as you treat others with unbiased, non-judgmental curiosity, don’t neglect yourself. It is not selfish or selfish to be interested in your own inner world – your thoughts and feelings, your secrets, your wounds. All this is worthy of your attention and your generosity of spirit.

It will seem to you that everyone you meet this week wants to tell you what to do. They all have opinions about the right and wrong ways to be, to dream, to change the world. Many of their ideas will be smart and useful that are worth hearing. But you can’t experience every opportunity or get involved in every good battle. Not for a week, not for a lifetime. You need to trust yourself to know the right course of action for you. Your own inner compass will not point you in the wrong direction.
