Who are the parents of Logan Mwangi Anharad Williamson and John Cole?

IN 2022, Anharad Williamson was jailed, along with her partner John Cole and his son Craig Mulligan, for the murder of her 5-year-old son Logan.

But what happened and where are Cole and Williamson now?

Where is Anharad Williamson now?

In July 2021, Logan Mwangi’s body was found with “severe injuries” dumped in a river.

Williamson told the court she was “overly protective” of Logan.

She said: “I was filming him sneezing, coughing, I was so happy for Logan.

Williamson and Cole, as well as a 14-year-old boy, were found guilty of Logan’s murder in April 2022.

“I loved that boy’s bones.”

She said of her relationship with her son: “It was beautiful.

“I’m quite a needy, emotional person and Logan was very cuddly, and so was my mum.

“We were very close. Logan was my little sidekick. We did everything together, he was such a beautiful, happy little boy.”

But during the trial, jurors heard that Logan suffered horrific physical and emotional abuse that led to his death.

Opportunities to save the young man, who was taken off the child protection register just a month before he was killed, were missed.

Williamson received a life sentence with a minimum of 28 years.

Where is John Cole now?

John Cole, who was a member of the far-right National Front group, called Logan “Coco Pop” and “dehumanized” him because of his mixed-race heritage.

But the 40-year-old claimed the racist term was intended in an “affectionate” way.

Prosecutor Caroline Rees QC said: “He was a mixed-race child and that is relevant to the dehumanizing treatment of Logan.”

In background, the court heard Cole was described as “very racist” by former friends and partners while growing up.

A friend said he was racist towards “all people who are different”.

Ms Rees said his “beliefs” may have been “relevant to his motivations” in the attacks on Logan.

She added: “He met with racist groups and was a member of the National Front.

“His view of Logan was infected with racism.”

The evidence was not heard by the jury as it had passed through the legal portal of presentation.

The court heard how he would bully Logan but that his mother did nothing to stop him.

John Cole received a life sentence with a minimum term of 29 years.

His stepson Craig Mulligan was also found guilty of murder and jailed for life with a minimum of 15 years.

What happened to Logan Mwangi?

Logan was murdered in his home on July 31, 2021, before an “elaborate charade” was concocted to cover up the crime.

CCTV footage shows Cole and Mulligan carrying the child’s body in a Nike bag to a nearby river in the early hours of July 31, 2021.

His mother then called 999 at 5.45am and began “hyperventilating” on the phone as she falsely reported her son missing.

Williamson was heard “crying and screaming” during the call and claimed he had been kidnapped.

Prosecutor Caroline Rees QC said she played “the role of a distraught mother to the best of her acting abilities”.

The former private school student continued the “disgusting show” when police arrived at her home.

As the trial progressed, it emerged that she had attempted to cover up her own guilt by placing the blame on the other two defendants.

Logan was found in the river with injuries similar to those caused by a fall from a great height or a “high speed” car crash after being dumped like “fly trash.”

The young man suffered trauma to his internal organs and brain, as well as 56 external injuries to his head, face, torso, arms and legs from a “blunt blow”.

The horrific list of injuries included a broken shoulder, profuse bleeding on his scalp and the back of his head, and significant brain trauma.

Who is Logan Mwangi’s biological father?

Logan’s biological father, Ben, last saw his son 19 months before his death, as he was stopped from seeing him by Williamson.

In the ITV documentary, The Murder of Logan Mwangi, Ben spoke openly about what it was like to lose his son, as well as his conversations with the police about what happened.

On the programme, Ben, who looked visibly shocked, said he was coping as best he could and revealed:

“I was the first person to hold him when he was born. I held him so tight. He was the best thing that ever happened to me.

“[Williamson] made my life an absolute misery. All I wanted was just to be a father.”

Speaking to the camera, he added: “One of the biggest questions in my entire life that I will always ask myself is why? Why did this happen? Why did Logan have to die?’

Unbeknownst to Ben, Logan was placed on the child protection register in March 2021, but was removed from it a month before he was killed.

A day before Logan’s body was found, a social worker visited the home but did not see him because they were told he had Covid.

Ben is now campaigning to change the law so that social services have a duty to inform estranged parents like him if there are concerns.

Ben said: “I probably would have tried to take him away.

“Why didn’t they do anything to make it a safe environment for him when it clearly wasn’t?

“If I can stop this from happening to someone else, then that would be the biggest, positive, most positive thing.

“My lasting memory of him was just a happy little boy calling me ‘daddy.’
