Emma Raducanu and Andy Murray are in action on the opening day of Wimbledon this afternoon, while the two stars of the British game emphasize the crowded schedule of matches in SW19.
Raducanu and Murray have released positive pre-tournament injury updates and are ready to go as the championship returns to full crowds and with no restrictions on Covid-19.
Raducanu will make his Central Court debut after his stunning US Open triumph last September and make it to the fourth round of last year’s tournament, but she faces a tough opponent and grass field specialist at Alison Van Whitvank.
The 19-year-old’s match will take place before two-time champion Murray faces James Duckworth, as the 35-year-old veteran is looking for another tournament. Before that, as is traditional, men’s defending champion Novak Djokovic will open a match on the central court.
