Winnipeg Police: Cyclist in critical condition after being hit by a garbage truck

A cyclist was taken to hospital in critical condition Wednesday after a garbage truck crash at a Winnipeg intersection.

The incident happened around 5 am at the intersection of Erin Street and Sargent Avenue.

When police arrived on the scene, they found the cyclist, a 30-year-old man with serious injuries. He was taken to the hospital in serious condition, where he remains at the moment.

Police inspected and found that the cyclist was hit by a garbage truck, which then drove away.
