Homicide investigators have identified a woman who was shot and killed in Maple Ridge on Friday.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team identified the victim as Kashmir Ali, 35, after two people were found with gunshot wounds at a residence in the 22600-block of 119 Avenue in Maple Ridge early Friday morning.

Ali was treated at the scene but died later in hospital, while the victim suffered non-life threatening injuries. IHIT has not yet released the man’s name. Investigators do not believe the shooting was random.

“We are working to identify witnesses who may shed light on what led to this tragedy,” said Sgt. Timothy Pierotti of IHIT. “We are appealing for all of Ms Ali’s associates to come forward and speak to police as we work to develop a timeline of events.”

IHIT is asking any witnesses or anyone traveling in the 22600 block of 119 Avenue, Maple Ridge, between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. with surveillance cameras or who has any information about the homicide to contact the IHIT tip line at 1-877-551-IHIT
