The Xbox Games Showcase Extended is now over and, as planned, we’ve got an expanded look at a ton of games on display in its main showcase on Sunday. Pete Hines of Bethesda discussed Starfield, Redfall and Fallout 76; Playground Games dived deep into their upcoming DLC for Forza Horizon 5 Hot Wheels; and we got new gameplay from small titles, including Ara: History Untold and Pentiment.
GSC Game World also shared the launch of STALKER 2 along with a developer’s diary showing what it’s like to work on the game amid the conflict in Ukraine. Another surprising announcement came in the form of confirmation that the hit computer game Valheim is coming to the Xbox next year, after it was released on PC Game Pass this fall.
Valheim is coming to the Xbox
The show began with the announcement of a trailer for Valheim on Xbox, the first platform of the game outside the PC. It was confirmed yesterday that Valheim is coming to PC Game Pass, but after a few gameplay videos, Microsoft also confirmed that it is coming to the console.
The game will be released this fall for the PC Game Pass and will later reach the Xbox One and Series in the spring of 2023. The versions of Valheim Steam, Microsoft Store and Xbox will be completely crossed.
Pete Hines of Bethesda talks about Redfall, Fallout and Starfield
Bethesda CEO Pete Hines gave fans an extra insight into the open-world cooperative shooter Red Fall, discussing how the game combines the classic feel of Arkane Studios with a new (optional) multiplayer element. Hines also discussed what’s new in Fallout 76 and how his community has stuck to the game itself and grown. Starfield was the last topic of discussion as Hines defined what Bethesda called an “epic RPG.”
Naraka: Bladepoint on Xbox Deep Dive

Naraka: Bladepoint developer 24 Entertainment gave fans a look at the game before its release date on Xbox One and Series on June 23. The studio has also deepened its long-awaited campaign mode, which will arrive in the game at a later date.
Ara: History Untold gets its first gameplay
Oxide Games took to the stage to discuss their upcoming historical strategy game Ara: History Untold and to show the first gameplay. A technical alpha has also been announced, more details of which will follow on the game’s official website.
Obsidian Entertainment discusses Grounded
Developers from Obsidian Entertainment showed up to discuss Grounded, a Kids Honey I Shrunk-style survival game, and it was finally released. The official launch date comes this September after more than two years of early access.
