Sunshine Coast RCMP are appealing for information after two boys injured a small dog while it was out walking with its owner in Davis Bay.

Around 8 a.m. on July 2, two boys approached a woman while she was walking her dog on the beach, RCMP said in a news release. One of the boys grabbed the leash and dragged the dog along the rocks, the release said.

“The little dog was crying as it was dragged by its leash, while the boys laughed. The boys then released the dog and leash onto the rocks and left the area toward Wilson Creek,” the release said. “There was no interaction between the owner of the dog and the boys prior to this incident.”

The dog was treated for injuries to its abdomen, paws and legs.

The message describes a boy, about 16 years old, with short dark hair, a hat, a red hoodie and black shorts. The second boy is described as about 13, tall, medium build also with a ball.
