It has long been a gaming myth that Michael Jackson wrote music for Sonic the Hedgehog 3, which has sparked long-held rumors about which parts of the soundtrack he was involved in.
Now Sonic creator Yuji Naka has confirmed that Michael Jackson has indeed written music for the game.
“Does Sonic Origins Sonic 3 have a different song?” He tweeted suddenly. “Oh my God, the music for Sonic 3 has changed, even though Sega Official uses Michael Jackson’s music.”

Sonic Origins, the new compilation of Sonic games, has been confirmed not to use the original soundtrack. This was thought to be due to ongoing speculation about the remuneration of Jackson’s property.
Instead, the compilation uses new arrangements by composer June Senue.
Creative worker Takashi Izuka confirmed this to Eurogamer: “When we go back and try to recreate all these games from more than 30 years ago, you get a lot of old data that can’t really be used. And the music was one of those things – we had to dig up the old DAT tapes to get the music that was in all these games, and June Senue came in and had to recreate in a modern format the music that Sonic 3 and Knuckles could play as final product. ”

Naka even tweeted a photo taken from Jackson’s home when the team visited him. “It’s pretty faded,” he admits. “I miss”.

Sega allegedly dropped Jackson from Sonic 3 after allegations of child abuse, although fans believe the music he composed remains in the original version of the game and was instead worked on by Jackson’s producers.
Naka’s tweet is a major recognition in this long-standing rumor.
