A child in serious condition after being hit by a car on a footpath in Gillingham

A boy is in critical condition in hospital after being hit by a car on a footpath in Gillingham. The child was hit by a silver Seat Leon around 8pm yesterday (June 24th).

The collision occurred at the intersection at Woodlands Road near the intersection with Cornwallis Avenue. Emergency services arrived on the scene and the boy was taken to a London hospital by air ambulance, where he remains in serious condition.

A 40-year-old man from Chatham was arrested in connection with the incident and detained. Police are now asking for witnesses to appear.

A Kent police spokesman said: “An investigation is currently underway by the Serious Clashes Investigation Unit (SCIU), which would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident. the clash is also called for to move forward. “
