A cyclist from Plymouth was taken to Derriford Hospital after colliding with a Range Rover
There were fears a Plymouth teenager suffered “life-changing” injuries after a collision with a Range Rover in Whitleigh. The incident happened last night (July 28) shortly before 8 p.m.
The 19-year-old man was traveling along Taunton Avenue when he collided with a 4×4. A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police said officers attended the scene at 8pm.
Eyewitness reports say an air ambulance was also in attendance as the man was taken to Derriford Hospital. The man has head and leg injuries.

Although “life-changing” injuries were initially suspected, they were later downgraded and “no longer considered serious”. The road was fully cleared and reopened at around 10.50pm.
A police spokesman said: “Police were called just after 8pm to reports of a collision between a cyclist and a Range Rover in Taunton Avenue, Whitleigh. The cyclist, who is a 19-year-old local man, suffered what were initially believed to be life-changing injuries and was taken to Derriford Hospital.
“This has since been downgraded and his head and leg injuries are no longer considered serious. The road was completely cleared at around 22:50.”
