A life-threatening motorcyclist after a head-on crash east of Peterborough

A motorcyclist was transported by air to a hospital in Toronto after a severe accident in the city of North Cavarta.

The collision happened around 8 am on Saturday on Northeys Bay Road at Fire Route 19.

According to the OPP, the drivers of a motorcycle and a car collided head-on, endangering the life of the motorcyclist.

Northeys Bay Road is currently closed between Highway 28 and County Road 6 as police investigate.

Police officers trained in the reconstruction of the clash are now at the scene, which is located about 50 kilometers northeast of Peterborough, measuring and documenting the incident.

The closure is expected to last several hours.

Police said the cause of the collision “remains under investigation”.
