A man died after a collision of seven cars in Hamilton

A man died after seven cars collided in Hamilton on Saturday night.

Hamilton police said it happened on York Boulevard near the ramp to Highway 403 in the west shortly after 7 p.m.

A male driver was killed in the collision, a sergeant from the Hamilton police. Jo-Ann Savoy told CP24.

She added that another person was transported to the multidisciplinary hospital in Hamilton with uncritical injuries.

The cause of the collision is unknown.

Police are asking drivers to avoid the area until the investigation is completed. Roads are expected to be closed in a few hours.
