Police believe a second motorcycle was involved in a crash in Hartlepool in which a man was fighting for his life.
Easington Road in Hartlepool was closed for more than 24 hours as police conducted forensic examinations following a collision involving a motorcycle and a black Range Rover. Officials now believe a second motorcycle is involved.
Cleveland police officers continue to appeal for witnesses, video surveillance and camera footage following the clash, which occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Thursday. A man in his 20s suffered alleged head, pelvic and leg injuries and is “critical but stable” in hospital.

Police believe the second motorcycle (pictured) was involved in the accident before fleeing the scene. Employees would like the rider to come forward and talk to them, as they may be able to help with inquiries.
A 20-year-old man detained in connection with the incident has been released for investigation. And it is believed that Range Rover was involved, left the scene.

The detective worked at the scene throughout Friday, with investigators setting up tents and investigating the collision. A police cordon remained at the entrance to the scene, and for many hours the traffic was diverted to alternative routes.
It is reported that the victim was currently on the bike. Cleveland Polic is again appealing for CCTV footage and also wanting to speak to any witnesses. Anyone with information was asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101, citing incident number 108131.
