A 61-year-old man died after colliding with his motorcycle in a field.
The Bootle man was at Bowker’s Green Lane, Aughton, just before 7.40pm last night (May 13th). Police were called to report that a Suzuki GSF 600 motorcycle had collided in a field after the driver failed to negotiate a left turn.
The motorcyclist was treated at the scene by the North West Ambulance Service and North West Air Ambulance before being taken to Royal Aintree Hospital, where he died. The man was traveling with two friends when the collision occurred. His family is informed and assisted by a family liaison officer.

Sergeant Mark Glass of the Lancashire Police Clashes Investigation Unit said: “An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the clash. My thoughts are with the man and his family at this difficult time.
“In the coming days, we will talk to witnesses and conduct video surveillance investigations in the area. If you have witnessed the incident and have not yet spoken to the police, please contact us as soon as possible. In addition, if you drove in the area during this incident and have any recordings from the dashboard, we would ask you to contact us.
