Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, reveals her marriage to Prince Charles in a candid interview.
In honor of her 75th birthday in July, Camilla spoke to British Vogue in a rare interview about her personal and professional life, including how she navigates her busy schedules, while maintaining a relationship with 73-year-old Prince Charles.
“Sometimes it’s not easy, but we always try to make sense the day we meet,” she said. “Sometimes it’s like ships passing through the night, but we always sit together, have a cup of tea and discuss the day.

Camilla also noted that it is “wonderful to catch up” when she and her husband “have little time.”
“You know, when we leave, the best thing is that we actually sit and read our books in different corners of the same room,” she explained. “It’s very relaxing because you know you don’t have to have a conversation.”
“Just sit down and be together,” she added.
The royal couple first met at a polo match in 1970 and are said to have an instant relationship. They remained close friends during their respective marriages – Charles and Diana, Princess of Wales and Camilla and Andrew Parker-Bowles – until their affair became public to the press in 1992. Camilla and Andrew announced their divorce in 1995. Charles and Diana divorced in 1996, and Diana died a year later.

In 1998, Charles introduced his sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, to Camilla, and until 2000, Queen Elizabeth attended a dinner with Charles and Camilla, which marked her approval of the couple. The couple later married in 2005.

During a conversation with Vogue, Camilla also reflected on the level of media control over her family in the 1990s, saying it was “not easy.”
“I’ve been looked at for so long that you just have to find a way to live with it,” she said. “Nobody likes to be watched all the time and criticized.”
She continued: “But I think in the end I rise above this and continue with it. You have to move on with life.”

Earlier this year, the 96-year-old queen expressed her feelings in a message on the eve of her accession day, marking the 70th anniversary of her transformation into monarch.
Queen Elizabeth “looks to the future” as she shares her desire for Camilla to be known as Queen Consort when Charles takes the throne.
In an interview with a fashion magazine, Camila discussed her work with survivors of domestic violence. She shared her intention to continue “as long as I can” when she becomes Queen Consort.
“You can’t abandon the things you’re in,” she said. – There are still many things to be done.
