Police refrained from trying to handcuff the economist’s son as he lay on the street after being hit by an unmarked police car, witnesses said.
Video seen by The times showed Arthur Holscher-Ermert, 27, on his back with police trying to resuscitate him as passers-by shouted “You killed him.”
In another video, apparently shot shortly before, Holscher-Ermert was heard moaning as police detained him face down after Saturday night’s collision in Peacehaven, East Sussex.

Holscher-Ermert, whose father, Jens Holscher, a professor of economics at Bournemouth University, died on the spot after being hit by a black BMW driven by a Sussex police officer.
