Others described the “legendary queues” as one passenger said: “The queue for water queues is still longer than the security queue… please add more charging stations!”
A spokesman for Stansted Airport said people might have to line up “if there are a number of passengers trying to use the fountain or fill several bottles”.
The spokesman added that “all our retailers will provide water, but passengers will have to line up with other passengers waiting in line, not jump in line.”
In Gatwick, three restaurants in the south terminal have not yet reopened since the start of the pandemic, causing congestion in other food outlets.
