All-Pro defensive game Aaron Donald returns to the Los Angeles Rams with a big raise that will make him the highest paid non-quarterback in the NFL.
Rams has reworked Donald’s deal to give him a $ 40 million increase over the past three years of his current contract, sources told ESPN’s Adam Shefter, making him the first quarterback to overshadow $ 30 million a season. The revised deal brings the total value of Donald’s contract to $ 95 million over three years.
The deal, which was negotiated by Agent Todd France, includes $ 65 million guaranteed in the first two years of the contract and is structured in such a way that Donald can either retire or return for the 2024 season for an additional $ 30 million guaranteed , sources said. Shefter.
The revised contract includes a trade ban clause, a source told ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.

Donald, 31, underwent a review and signed the contract on Monday. The Rams begin their mandatory mini-camp on Tuesday.
Donald said in the podcast “I’m an athlete” last week that his return for the 2022 season depends on a new deal and that he will be “at peace” with his career if no agreement can be reached.
The three-time defender of the year sealed Rams’ victory over the Cincinnati Bengals in the Super Bowl LVI when he pressed quarterback Joe Burrow into a miscarriage in the fourth at the end of the fourth quarter.
Donald had 12.5 sacks in the regular season and then another 3.5 in the playoffs during the Rams’ run for the Super Bowl Championship.
For eight seasons, Donald has 98 bags. He has six seasons with at least 10 sacks – the second largest number of major domestic wrestlers since sacks became official in 1982, just behind John Randall, who had nine such sacks.
He was selected for the Pro Bowl in each of his seasons in the NFL and was the first All-Pro selection seven times. He is one of three defensive players since the 1970 merger to win a Pro Bowl selection in each of their first eight NFL seasons, along with Hall of Fame members Lawrence Taylor (10) and Derrick Thomas (9).
