Fracture: A man dies after an Audi collides with a wall in Stockport

A man died after a terrible accident in Stockport in the early hours of this morning.

Emergency services rushed to Brinksway near downtown around 1:35 a.m. Sunday to report a single-vehicle crash.

It is alleged that the Audi A3 failed to overcome a turn before climbing the sidewalk and crashing into a wall, police said.

The driver of the car, a 30-year-old man, tragically died on the spot. His close relatives have been notified.

Brinksway was closed for several hours at night before reopening shortly after 7:30 a.m. Sunday morning as crash investigators conducted their investigations.

Investigations into the crash continue as police urge witnesses or anyone with a camera recording to appear.

Sergeant Matthew Wagget, of GMP’s Serious Clashes Investigation Department, said: “Investigations are ongoing and we ask anyone who has information or camera footage showing an Audi A3 in the Brinksway area before the collision to ignore it. On.”
