Full result of the Northern Ireland Assembly elections in 2022 UTV

The census of the Northern Ireland Assembly ended with all 90 seats occupied after the trial entered its third day.

Gary Middleton was the last candidate selected after the Magerrafelt marathon count.

The overall result was historic. For the first time, Sinn Fein topped the poll and won the most seats.

For the DUP, the party’s votes dropped significantly – but the party remained second with 25 seats, three fewer. The other success story was the Alliance, which noted that its growth continued with nine additional seats, bringing it to 17.

For SDLP and UUP, it was a tough match – with the Unionists losing one and the SDLP losing four, including Deputy Leader Nicolas Malone and veteran Dolores Kelly.

People secured a place before the win, and two independents, Alex Easton and Claire Sugden, were also returned.
