The Dragons are back on HBO.
A new trailer for the long-awaited series of prehistory of Game of Thrones House of the Dragon has been released.
The series takes place 200 years before the events of the original series, which became HBO’s biggest hit and the most profitable drama of all time.
The new series is by author George RR Martin (based on his book Fire & Blood) and co-authors and showrunners Ryan Condal (Colony) and Miguel Sapochnik (Finch).
Dragon stars include Peaky Blinders as King Viserys Targaryen, Olivia Cook (Ready Player One) as Alison Hightower, Emma D’Arcy (Wanderlust) as Princess Rainier Targaryen and Matt Smith (Doctor Who) as Prince Damon Targary.
HBO technically calls the new footage a teaser trailer, although the network previously released an official teaser trailer in October and this video is more extensive.
The series, which premiered on Aug. 21, is a major initiative for HBO, which hopes to reclaim some of the magic of Game of Thrones, which grossed more than $ 1 billion during its 2011-2011 broadcast. The company has several others prehistory projects that are unfolding in the world of Westeros at various stages of development, and the presentation of House of the Dragon is a good sign that GoT can turn from a single hit series into a franchise.
