Gas prices, TTC closing, weather: what you need to know about this weekend (May 14-15)

This weekend will be hot and mostly sunny and if you are planning to go out, there are a few things to keep in mind.

GAS PRICES

driving? Well, pump prices will reach a new record this weekend, surpassing the $ 2 per liter mark on Saturday. An additional six-cent increase is expected on Sunday, according to an industry analyst.

– SUNDAY: $ 2.08 / liter

Dan McTeague, president of Canadians for Affordable Energy, said he expects gas prices to reach $ 2.10 a liter by the long weekend of May. He noted that prices will remain above the $ 2 mark for the foreseeable future.

“I think he will be looking for another 10 cents a liter this summer. So we are looking for maybe a new normal creature from $ 2.10 to $ 2.15, with the days moving to $ 2.20, ”he said.

“High prices are here to stay.”

TTC CLOSED

By public transport? There will be no subway on Saturday and Sunday in part of line 2. Trains will not run between Broadview and Woodbine stations due to track operation.

Shuttles will move.

There will also be no shuttle bus to 174 Ontario Place from 3pm to 12pm on Sundays to accommodate the Juno Awards.

WEATHER

Sunny weather will continue this weekend. On Saturday, the maximum temperature will be 27 C with a humidity of 32. Environment Canada announced that it will be a little cooler near Lake Ontario.

Sunday will be a mixture of sun and clouds. There is a 30 percent probability of rain with a maximum temperature of 27 C.
