Firefighters are battling a huge field fire near Canvey Road.
Traffic is moving slowly eastbound on Canvey Way (A130) from Sadlers Farm Interchange (A13) to Somnes Avenue, which appears to be as a result of the fire.

A spokesman for Essex Fire and Rescue Service said: “Thank you for calling our control room to report it, but we are on the ground and will provide further updates when we can.

“Please keep your windows and doors closed if you live nearby and avoid the area.”
Aerial images show the scale of the fire, the second on the island since the new heat wave began this week.
Experts have warned that the UK could see more bushfires this weekend as temperatures are expected to reach 35C.

The Met Office has issued an amber heat warning and forecasters have warned that more people are likely to visit coastal areas, lakes, rivers and other scenic spots, leading to an increased risk of fire-related incidents.
