The Director-General of the WHO shall convene an emergency committee in accordance with Article 48 of the International Health Regulations in relation to the present outbreak of smallpox virus. The meeting will be held on June 23, 2022 and is open only to members and advisers of the Emergency Situations Committee.
The purpose of this meeting is to provide views to the WHO Director-General on whether the event constitutes a public health emergency of international importance, as well as on proposed potential interim recommendations.
