He smiled good-naturedly as he waited for the large tank of his black SUV to fill.
There are big changes on the horizon for James and his 10-year-old wife Jules, who are considering returning to the UK with their three children Max at 11, Kerry at seven and Charlotte at four.

Another source suggests that he plans to move near London’s West Ham United Stadium in east London.
An insider told the Sun: “James and Jules have had little time to see their families in the UK over the past few years because of his work schedule. They will go back and forth for a while.
“In the long run, they both want to see more than their parents and are considering a permanent move back in a few years. They sold their house in London, so they had to look for a new base in the capital.
The Late Late Show, which is being shot outside of Los Angeles, was first presented in 1995 with host Tom Snyder. Craig Kilborn and Craig Ferguson followed as hosts until James Cordon came in 2015.

Cordon vowed to “come out with a bang” as he briefed audiences on his decision to retire as host of The Late Late Show.
Revealing the news during the last episode of the American talk show, he said the show had “changed my life” and promised that there would be “many tears” when his term ended.
“I started running this show seven and a half years ago and I can’t say it, it changed my life,” he said.
“I’ve never seen it as my final destination and I never want this show to interrupt the reception, I love doing it and I really think that in a year it will be a good time to move on and see what’s there. ‘
He added: “We are all determined to make this the best year we have ever had … we will come out with a bang.
“The fact that you’re watching this … all over the world … is an absolute privilege for me and every single person who does this show.”

Asked if he planned to move home, Cordon said he and his wife “honestly don’t know the answer.”
“It’s something we think about and talk about a lot, but we haven’t decided yet. This is the life side of the things we will understand, “he added.
“I love living here [in LA]. I love everything that is given to me. My family and I have never taken this amazing adventure for granted. I drive to Sunset every day and I just think I’m from High Wycombe.

He admitted that he wants to spend more time with his close friend Mark Noble, who is the captain of his favorite football team West Ham United. Noble is retiring at the end of this season.

An insider added to the DailyMail: “What’s next? Well, James is focused on creating a really spectacular current and final season of the show.
“He will also release mammals in the fall (fall), which he is excited about.”
“However, more time in the UK after the filming is definitely ahead, as he is very close to his family there.”
During Cordon’s tenure on The Late Late Show, he developed hit segments like Carpool Karaoke, where he drove celebrities around and they sang together. Carpool Karaoke was later separated in its own show for Apple in 2017 and even won an Emmy Award. It is currently in its fifth season.
“He told us he had an incredible time and is incredibly grateful to CBS, but he thinks now is the right time to go high and make his last year the biggest so far,” a CBS source said.
“James and the show have won countless Emmy Awards, won a selection of critics, and won a Tony Award in 2012, before taking up his post at CBS. He immediately won over critics and fans, as well as the huge celebrities he managed to secure.
The father of three has previously called his team on the show his family and even paid for it out of his own pocket during the pandemic.
However, James’ time on the net was not without controversy. In 2021, the show was forced to change one of Cordon’s more famous sketches, Spill Your Guts, after being accused of being anti-Asian.
The segment, which includes stars such as Justin Bieber, Kendall Jenner and Chrissy Teigen, sees participants choosing to either answer a curious question or eat something called “rough”.
Several of the unpleasant objects came from Asian culture, and Cordon himself called many of them “disgusting.”
Last summer, a TikTok user launched the Change.org petition, which garnered nearly 50,000 signatures, and James later announced on the Howard Stern show that he would no longer use Asian foods in the segment.
But Cordon admits that leaving the show will be a bitter farewell for him.
“I’m going to miss the adrenaline of thinking, ‘I’m going to jump off the plane with Tom Cruise next week, or we’re going to drive around the White House in two weeks with Michelle Obama, or we’re singing Penny Lane with Paul McCartney driving on Penny Lane,'” he said.
In addition to his own show, James has hosted the Tony and Grammy Awards, as well as other prime time shows for CBS and HBO Max.
He also has a film career starring in films such as Peter Rabbit, Prom, In the Woods, Trolls and Cats.
He will appear in a new Prime Video drama, Mammals, later this year – his first role on British television since his Christmas major at Gavin And Stacey broke records as the UK’s most-watched spring event in a decade.
