Sir Keir Starmer will resign as Labor leader if he is found to have broken the coronavirus rules.
In a bold gamble designed to bring back questions about violations of Boris Johnson’s blockade, Starmer announced this afternoon that a fine would end his leadership.
The announcement came after police in Durham announced on Friday that they were investigating whether Starmer had violated coronavirus rules during a visit to the office of Mary Foy, a local MP, on April 30 last year. Labor insisted it was a working event during the local elections.

Starmer insisted that society deserves politicians who “put the country first, not themselves.”
