A Kentucky doctor has been accused of hiring a killer to kill her ex-husband, federal officials say.
According to U.S. prosecutors last Sunday, 52-year-old Stephanie Russell, a Louisville pediatrician, agreed to pay an FBI agent undercover $ 7,000 to hit her ex-husband last Sunday.
On Wednesday, Russell left $ 3,500 in cash in a box in front of his office to settle half of the fake killer’s bill, federal officials said.
She allegedly told the agent that she would pay him the other half after he finished the job.
The average pediatrician in Louisville earns $ 199,300 a year, according to Salary.com.
Russell has been accused of using interstate stores in a rental murder and faces up to ten years in prison, authorities said.
Her online biography for Norton Children’s Medical Group was deactivated on Friday night.
