The M5 was closed after an accident blocked the road. The accident happened on the southern lane between intersections 27 and 28, near Wiland, at around 12.30 pm, and police say the road is closed so that an air ambulance can land.
Google’s travel map shows slow-moving southbound traffic. There are delays in construction back to junction 27 for Tiverton.
The Inrix Travel Information Service says: “One lane is closed and traffic is slow due to an accident on the M5 Southbound from J27 A361 (Tiverton) to J28 A373 Honiton Road (Cullompton / Service Area).”

There have been earlier reports of a collision at the entrance to junction 27 of Tiverton, but this has already been cleared up.
