Manitoba RCMP officials are investigating after a 75-year-old man was found dead in the water near a gutter.
The investigation began on the evening of May 19, when the RCMP received a report of a missing person from Snow Lake.
According to police, the man left Snow Lake on May 18 and headed for his cabin.
An RCMP spokesman said the man had been hired to go out and check the area’s gutters.
The man’s ATV was found abandoned near a gutter on May 19th.
Mounties, conservation officers, firefighters, local guides and community members began searching the area. The man was found dead in the water near the gutter on May 20 at 10 p.m.
The RCMP said the man appeared to have fallen into the water and drowned. It was found 40 to 50 feet down the gutter.
Occupational safety and health have been reported to the incident and RCMP staff are continuing to investigate.
