TAMPA, Florida – Toronto Maple Leafs star Oston Matthews is one of the most modern athletes in sports and certainly in hockey. At the NHL Awards on Tuesday night, Matthews said he kept his appearance “sloppy”, which for him still meant wearing Gucci.

Matthews won the Hart Trophy for Most Valuable Player in the NHL, an award voted by the Professional Hockey Writers Association, and the Ted Lindsay Award for Most Outstanding Player voted by the NHL Players’ Association.
He accepted the prizes without a tie and an open shirt.
“They said we could go a little careless. I don’t like wearing a tie, to be honest with you. It’s hot,” Matthews said, noting the climate in Florida.
“I’m trying to take it a little casually tonight,” he added. “Let the chest breathe a little. It’s sticky outside.”
Matthews wore Gucci from head to toe, although he received a question from the Canadian media confused about his jacket.
Were these maple leaves?
“They’re just little bees,” Matthews told the Gucci brand.

He looked good to Matthews one night when he won two awards.
“It’s good. I won’t lie to you, I feel really good. It is special for my family to be here with me. There are a lot of great players in this room, “he said.
