Prince William turns 40; Doesn’t that make you feel old? It seems that only yesterday he was the Prince of Disney with deer-eyed eyes, heading to St. Andrews. He is now the father of three children with a complicated family life and a penchant for pretty good knitting.
At first glance, Prince William does not show the same level of enthusiasm for style as his father. Prince Charles is an avid supporter of British and Savile Row craftsmanship, and his wardrobe is a mix of flawless tailoring and favorite pieces – some of which he has worn for more than four decades.
Prince William does not have the same appetite for fashion, nor does he seem to be interested in high fashion brands (watching you, Harry). But over the last 20 years, he has built a permanent list of outfits he has begun to rely on.
Speaking as someone who will stare at the barrel of 40, this is a period of life when a man establishes his style. When he needs to know exactly what suits him and what fashion nonsense to leave behind. As the Duke of Cambridge grew older, he opted for an appearance that suited his role and way of life – and others could learn from his approach.
