Amazon Prime Day 2022 is typically filled with PC gaming hardware sales. But what if you don’t have the Amazon Prime subscription needed to participate in them—or if you just don’t like Amazon? Cheap new peripherals/monitors/SSDs/other gubbins can still be yours, as many other retailers are running sales this week to give Prime Day some healthy competition. In some cases, they’ll even have the same kit as Amazon, but at matching or even better prices. So, this list that pulls together all the best deals against Prime Day that I’ve found.
Since Prime Day technically spans two days, July 12th and July 13th, I’ll also highlight ten of the top deals for each day at the top of this page. Below you’ll find your guide to many other Prime Day deals on PC gaming hardware of all types, and here are some Prime Day FAQs.

The best SSD and storage deals
It’s always nice to see the WD Blue SN570 with a few coins shaved off. It’s probably the best gaming SSD overall in terms of pure value, and while there are faster PCIe 4.0 SSDs, the SN570’s PCIe 3.0 interface makes it more widely compatible with motherboards and CPUs.

The best deals on gaming monitors
There are few monitors here that make that golden combination of sharp 1440p resolution, high refresh rate and variable refresh rate support. But I wouldn’t blame you for getting your head around the Asus ROG Swift PG32UQX – yes, it’s expensive even with a £100 discount, but the HDR-boosting Mini LED backlight makes it one of the best gaming monitors on the market.

The best deals on gaming mice
I will continue to look for a more diverse mix of mice, but there are already some excellent inexpensive models here. The Logitech G203 Lightsync has long been one of the RPS hivemind’s favorite cheap gaming mice, and the HyperX Pulsefire Haste is beautifully light in the hand.

The best deals on gaming keyboards
A familiar sight on RPS’s list of best gaming keyboards, the Logitech G915 Lightspeed Wireless is sold in the UK by Currys. Honestly, Amazon’s Prime Day sale is better, but that’s still a very reasonable price for a modern classic. In the US, you can get the Roccat Pyro — already one of the best value mechanical keyboards — for even less.

The best deals on gaming headsets
These headset deals cover the usual suspects, although it’s a nice surprise to see the HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless get such a big price cut so soon after launch. I’ve actually been using this as my primary headset since May, and given that I haven’t had to charge it once, I’d say HyperX’s claim of 300 hours of battery life isn’t far off the mark.

Even the best graphics cards have finally come down in price, although we’re not quite back to normal yet. However, some retailers are using Prime Day to reduce their GPU stock a bit to affordable levels.

If Amazon has a weakness on Prime Day, it’s processors: Competing retailers seem to be much better at slashing prices on the latest processors. That’s not to say there’s absolutely a lot to choose from, but hey, anything that makes the Intel Core i9-12900KS cheaper is a good thing in my opinion.

Look outside of Amazon and you’ll find good deals on DDR4 and DDR5 RAM. Be sure to check which type your motherboard supports, as DDR5 slots on a mobo are not compatible with DDR4 (and vice versa).

Expect more laptop deals to pop up during this two-day sale period. Meanwhile, UK residents can save on a powerful RTX 3070-equipped Lenovo Legion 5, while those in the US can pick up a few hundred on the Razer Blade Stealth: one of the thinnest gaming laptops you can buy.

What is Prime Day and why does it need an “anti”?
Prime Day is Amazon’s wealth of annual deals. Not unlike Black Friday, but specific to Amazon, it’s a time when all kinds of products—including PC gaming hardware—see deep discounts. This usually makes it a good time to refresh your computer’s components or peripherals, if you’re so inclined.
The problems are twofold: First, Amazon Prime Day deals are only available to those with an Amazon Prime subscription (or using the 30-day free trial). Second, not everyone will want to shop specifically on Amazon, especially when there are alternatives available. Deals run by rival retailers – often in direct competition with Prime Day – can offer these alternatives, making them good deals against Prime Day for those who’d rather spend their money elsewhere.
When is Prime Day 2022?
Basically July 12 and 13. Yes, it’s two days. The non-Amazon deals listed above may start earlier or end later, but since the idea behind many of them will be to directly challenge Prime Day, it makes sense that their best prices will fall in the same two-day period.

Do Prime Day deals always match Amazon deals?
You can expect Amazon to have lower prices on certain items, as well as some that may not be sold at all by other retailers. However, it goes both ways, and sometimes non-Amazon sellers will have exclusive deals on hardware or match Amazon’s Prime Day price on a product. If you’re really lucky, the price outside of Amazon might even be lower.
