A 30-year-old man is in critical condition in hospital after an attack involving a group of men in South Belfast.
The man suffered severe head injuries and an alleged skull fracture after being attacked by four men on Botanical Avenue after 2.55am on Sunday morning.
Detective Sergeant Lorraine Doherty said: “It is reported that one of the men hit the man who fell to the ground, while the other three men hit him on the head and body.

“The man was taken to hospital with serious head injuries, including an alleged skull fracture. His condition is defined as severe.
“The men then left for the Lower Crescent after the incident.
“Investigations are ongoing and we would urge anyone who has any information or has witnessed the incident to contact the detectives on tel. 101, citing reference number 293 01/05/22. Alternatively, the information may be provided to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org. ”
