The heat warning remains in effect for the rest of the weekend in Toronto, but temperatures are expected to drop on Sunday night.
Environment Canada says maximum temperatures could reach a low thirty again on Sunday. Humidex values are also expected to be in the mid to high thirties.
The Meteorological Agency said “significantly” cooler and less humid air would arrive tonight after the cold front.
As the heat continues on Sunday morning, the agency warns that hot and humid air could lead to poor air quality.
He also warns that very high temperatures or humid conditions are expected to pose an increased risk of heat diseases, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
“The risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, the elderly, people with chronic illnesses and people who work or train outdoors,” the agency said.
“Drink plenty of water, even before you feel thirsty, and stay in a cool place.”
