Toronto police are looking for a man and a dog after violent attacks

Toronto police say they are looking for a suspect after he and his 100-pound dog attacked four people during the night.

At around 2:45 a.m., police responded to reports of car theft in the area of Third Street and Lake Shore West.

Police say a man ordered a vehicle and when the driver arrived, the man attacked the driver with his hands.

The man then ordered his dog to attack the driver, police said.

The suspect then fled in the driver’s red car.

The victim, a 50-year-old man, was taken to hospital in stable condition.

Nearly two hours later, police responded to a robbery in Norris Crescent Park, near Humber Bay Park, around 4:35 p.m.

Police said a man and a woman were riding their bicycles through the park.

“They stopped filming when a man with a dog approached them. The man sets the dog to attack the woman, she is in hospital, recovering from her injuries. He takes her bicycle, sets the dog to attack the man. I don’t believe there was an attack, but there was an attempt, “said Const. David Hopkinson told CP24 on Saturday morning.

The woman is in hospital in stable condition.

Police say the dog attacked another person nearby in the park. Their injuries are unknown.

Police later said a man sleeping on his boat at a nearby Etobicoke yacht club heard a commotion outside.

The man saw that the suspect, who was with his dog, was trying to steal the boat from his boat.

The suspect and his dog then fled the scene.

The man was not injured.

According to police, the same man is believed to be responsible for all four attacks.

“(It’s) disturbing because the severity of these injuries and these attacks and they’re somewhat accidental, it’s disturbing. There are a lot of people … who trust people who approach them with a dog, and that breaks that trust. Hopkinson said.

“I do not blame the dog. I blame the man and we have to find them, because someone will suffer more seriously, “he added.

The suspect was described as dark-skinned, of medium build, with a dark, thin beard and a gray hood.

The dog is described as a 100-pound brown pit bull or mastiff.

Officers search the area.

Everyone is called upon to contact the police with information.
