The story continues

Tucker Carlson opened his show on Fox News on Thursday night, making it clear that neither he nor Fox News – unlike any other major news channel – will broadcast in prime time, a historic hearing of an elected House committee during of the January 6, 2021 attack on the US Capitol.

The hearing, Carlson said, was “crazy” and “insulting,” and he simply refused to “mock.”

“This is the only hour on an American news channel that will not broadcast their propaganda live,” Carlson said, comparing the hearing to what you can see in “totalitarian regimes.”

“They are lying and we will not allow them to do so.”

So while a House of Representatives committee aired unprecedented footage of the shocking violence of a crowd of Donald Trump supporters on Jan. 6 to see the country, Carlson instead broadcast panoramic footage of members of Congress watching the footage.

He and his producers cast hysterical chirons on the screen to see their millions of viewers: “JANUARY 6 6 CMTE feeds on fake stories while the fake investigation drags on.” JAN. 6 IGNORE THE TRUE THREATS. ”

Carlson also welcomed a number of assassins from his favorite guests, including Tulsey Gabbard (D-Hawaii), right-wing expert Michael Tracy and Darren Beatty, a former spokesman for former President Donald Trump, who was expelled from the White House for speaking at a White House conference. .

Beatty was one of the keynote speakers on the Patriot Purge, Carlson’s January 6 conspiracy papers on Fox Nation.

Carlson used Thursday’s prime time to summarize the savage revisionist story of Jan. 6, which he insisted on in The Purge of the Patriots: that the violence of the Capitol attack was in fact instigated by the FBI as a pretext for arresting Trump supporters en en masse.

Carlson also tried to compare the January 6 attack to the 2020 anti-racist uprising, a false equivalent that his guests happily showered.

“When political violence benefits them, they turn a blind eye to it,” said Matt Schlapp, president of the American Conservative Union. “When real Americans are outraged, they want to put them in jail.” (Slap did not explain what a “true American” was.)

Fox News did not stop advertising for the entire hour of the Carlson show.

“Carlson spent the whole hour without a break,” tweeted Matthew Hertz, a senior contributor to Media Matters, the liberal media supervisor. “Fox desperately wants to prevent its viewers from switching to another channel and seeing the hearing in real time.”

“Fox News doesn’t just allow Tucker Carlson to do his regular show, they broadcast it without commercials,” Hertz added. “They want to spread his propaganda so much that they leave money on the table to do it.”

At one point in his show, Carlson, while claiming that what happened on January 6 was not an uprising, seemed to be threatening a new uprising.

“This was not an uprising,” he said of the attack, trying to prevent Congress from certifying the Electoral College vote in 2020, “but do you know what an uprising will give you?” If you ignore the legitimate fears of the population. Putting them aside doesn’t seem to matter when gasoline reaches $ 5 and you say “Buy an electric car.” When cities become so dirty and dangerous that you can’t live there. When the economy becomes so distorted, your children have no hope of getting married and giving you grandchildren. When you don’t care about any of this at all, and all you do is talk about yourself without interruption, you can get rebellious if you act like that by talking about riots. ”
