Two were injured in a brazen shooting at the Coquitlam restaurant

The Coquitlam RCMP is investigating a daring shooting during a day at a restaurant in the Burquitlam neighborhood on Saturday night that left two people with life-threatening injuries.

Mountis was called to the Pizza Factory on Clark Road and Hobby Way at 7:43 p.m. for a reported shooting.

When officers arrived, they found a man and a woman with gunshot wounds.

Witnesses from a nearby apartment building told Global News that they heard between 5-6 shots and that those living there were shaken by the incident.

“I put my daughter to sleep,” a witness told Global News.

“It was actually very intense and scary. This is a family-oriented place. It’s pretty scary. “

Another witness was watching TV from his apartment when he heard the shots.

“I saw a man dressed in black, he was running on Claremont Street – he was alone, I was looking to see if he got in the car or not, but he kept running until he disappeared from my sight,” he told Global News.

British Columbia’s emergency services sent two ambulances to the scene and told Global News that one person had been taken to hospital.

The culprit is still at large, according to Mounties, and the motive for the shooting is unknown at this time.

The public is asked to avoid the Clarke Road area, which is closed between Como Lake Road and Smithe Avenue.
